Abstract: A sememe is defined as the minimum semantic unit of human languages. Sememeknowledge bases (KBs), which contain words annotated with sememes, have beensuccessfully applied to many NLP tasks. However, existing sememe KBs are builton only a few languages, which hinders their widespread utilization. To addressthe issue, we propose to build a unified sememe KB for multiple languages basedon BabelNet, a multilingual encyclopedic dictionary. We first build a datasetserving as the seed of the multilingual sememe KB. It manually annotatessememes for over $15$ thousand synsets (the entries of BabelNet). Then, wepresent a novel task of automatic sememe prediction for synsets, aiming toexpand the seed dataset into a usable KB. We also propose two simple andeffective models, which exploit different information of synsets. Finally, weconduct quantitative and qualitative analyses to explore important factors anddifficulties in the task. All the source code and data of this work can beobtained on this https URL.

According to the biblical history, the majestic Tower of Babel was the result of human haughtiness. This arrogant dearing caused the divine fury which, as a punishment, sowed the chaos and confusion among those who dared to build «a tower as high as heaven», creatind in this way the present languages. Far from agreeing with this concept, we firmily believe that diversity must be understood as a blessing and not as a stigma. Therefore, our aim is to create music which comes from different sources and latitudes, being aware of the integrating capacity of art.
Según la historia bíblica, la majestuosa Torre de Babel fue el fruto de la soberbia humana. Esta arrogante osadía desató la furia divina que, a manera de castigo, sembró el caos y la confusión entre aquellos que se atrevieron a edificar «una torre que llegue hasta el Cielo”, creando de esta manera los idiomas actuales. Lejos de comulgar con este concepto, creemos firmemente que la diversidad debe entenderse como una bendición y no como un estigma. Por ello y para ello, aspiramos a crear una música que beba de diversas fuentes y latitudes, conscientes de la capacidad integradora del arte.
